a broad cross-section of NSMH stakeholders came together to form the NSMH Legacy Fund at The Pittsburgh Foundation. This group included NSMH founders, alumni, national board members, national advisory board members, chapter advisors, and supporters. This group, who cared deeply about NSMH, saw a need and opportunity to raise money and strategically recommend grants to strengthen NSMH by preserving the organization’s rich legacy, deepening its impact, and advancing its future.
The NSMH Legacy Fund founding members include Kimberly Brunsell, Michael Burkeen, David Corsun, Ph.D., Darion Forrest, Evan Frazier, Tressan Gordon, Leslie Knox, Theodora Polamalu, Orr Rivero, Janice Taylor, Steven Tiller, Alfred Watts, Michael Wearen, Carl Winston, and Penelope Wint.
The NSMH Legacy Fund at The Pittsburgh Foundation was established in 2015 to provide long-term financial support and sustainability to the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH), a student organization, and its purpose of minority advancement in the hospitality field.
The NSMH Legacy Fund will support critical ongoing operational needs, project funding, and serve as an emergency reserve for the student organization, NSMH. Ultimately, The Legacy Fund will help NSMH achieve its mission and vision.
